About Talus

ROOTED IN THE MOUNTAINS. BUILT TO TAKE OWNERSHIP.

Talus developed from the needs we experienced firsthand as property owners, developers and operators in Colorado’s mountain communities: finding capable, reliable people, coordinating multiple trades, maintaining consistent quality and getting work finished on time.

Leadership & Accountability

Founder

JONAH LANDY

Talus Pro is owned and operated by Jonah Landy, a fourth-generation Colorado rancher, entrepreneur, philanthropist, builder and developer with deep roots in Colorado’s mountain communities. Jonah spent years living and working in Grand County, where he built businesses, served on local boards, volunteered and was elected Mayor Pro Tempore of Grand Lake. Those experiences shaped a simple approach to business: show up, take care of people and your community, and do what you said you were going to do.

When he’s not working on a project, you’ll usually find Jonah outside – skiing or snowmobiling in the winter and boating or hiking in the summer with his yellow Lab Ollie.

He has a passion for sustainability and has led multiple missions both locally and abroad.

Multi-Generational Heritage

Local Roots

The founder’s family has deep ties to Colorado’s mountain communities, including multiple generations in Grand County and Moffat County family businesses and ranching connections across the region.

Four generations of cattle ranching, local business ownership, development experience and public service shape a practical, long-term view of land, property and community.

This longevity instills an enduring respect for the environment, our neighbors, and the seasonal realities that govern high-altitude living. We build relationships and structures meant to outlast generations.

Core Values

Operating Principles

Five non-negotiable principles govern every project, crew member, and decision at Talus.

PRINCIPLE 01

RESPECT

Respect the work, the property, the people, the community, the environment, animals, materials, equipment and one another.

PRINCIPLE 02

OUTCOME

When Talus accepts responsibility for a project, Talus remains accountable for getting it handled correctly.

PRINCIPLE 03

CARE

Quality includes the details: preparation, communication, cleanliness, follow-through and doing the right thing when no one is watching.

PRINCIPLE 04

COMMUNICATION

Recommend practical solutions, communicate clearly and price work in a way that supports a long-term relationship.

Institutional Compliance

TEAMWORK

Talus operates under standard operating procedures and ensures consistency in work, communication and delivery regardless if it’s Talus’ crews or other local specialties completing the job.

Origin of Our Name

The Talus Name

Talus takes its name from the rock formations found throughout the mountains — individual pieces settling together over time to create something strong, grounded and enduring.

Together we take what is fragmented and turn it into the foundation of something new.
